Acts 14 • Faith and grace always go together. (Romans 4:16, Ephesians 2:18) • Everything we get from God has been made available by grace, through Christ Jesus. • The Word of God and grace go together. (John 1:14, 17) • John 1:14, 17 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. • You cannot separate the Word and grace. • Taught. (Titus 2:11-12, Mark 16:15-16, Matthew 28:18-20) • Saved. (Titus 2:11-12, (Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 1:18) • Called. (Galatians 1:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:14) • Strengthened. (2 Timothy 2:1, Psalm 119:28) • Grow in. (2 Peter 3:18, 1 Peter 2:2) • Continue in. (Acts 13:43, John 8:31, James 1:25, 1 Timothy 4:16) • The Word points us to the Spirit and the Spirit points us to the Word. • The voice of grace speaks over your life. Salvation, righteousness, protection, deliverance, provision, identity, healing, acceptance and value. • Acts 13:38-39 Let it be known to you that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins. And by Him, everyone who believes is justified from all things. • 1. The Word of His Grace Builds You Up. • Romans 1:16 The Word of God is the power of God to salvation to all who believe. • His Word is medicine to our flesh. Proverbs 4:22 • 2. The Word of His Grace Heals. • Psalm 103:2-5, 8 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. • 3. The Word of His Grace Protects. • 4. The Word of His Grace Empowers Boldness. • Boldness is a behavior born out of a belief. Spiritual boldness comes from knowing Jesus. • Acts 14:20 However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. • 5. The Word of His Grace has Power. • Acts 14:22 Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith... • 2 Timothy 3:10-14 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra —what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. • Acts 14:11 Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” • Philippians 3:7-8 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. • Once you know who He is then you know who you are. • IDENTITY. I Am. • The righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (1 Corinthians 5:21) • A daughter (son) of God. (2 Corinthians 6:18) • An heir. (Romans 8:17) • Forgiven and free. (Psalm 103:12, Ephesians 1:7, John 8:32) • Called, chosen and anointed. (Romans 8:30-31, John 15:16, Ephesians 1:4) • Loved and blessed beyond measure. (Psalm 103:12, Jeremiah 31:3, Romans 8:35-38) • Prosperous and fruitful. (3 John 2, John 15:16) • Full of life. (Romans 8:9-11) • A new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17) • His masterpiece and the apple of His eye. (Ephesians 2:10, Zechariah 2:8) • The light of the world. (Matthew 5:14) • More than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37) • Strong and able and wise. (Psalm 49:3, Proverbs 2:6, Proverbs 8:13-15, 1 John 2:14) • Fearless and bold. (Isaiah 43:5, Joshua 1:9) • Hidden in the secret place of His presence. (Psalm 31:20) • Of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) • The fragrance of Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:15) • Healed, healthy and whole. (2 Peter 2:24) • Christ’s Ambassador. (2 Corinthians 5:20) • 6. The Word of His Grace Speaks Identity. • We live FROM a place of approval instead of FOR approval. • Acts 14:15 Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them • Acts 14:22 We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God. (1 Peter 4:16, Matthew 5:10-12) • 7. The Word of His Grace includes the Message of the Cross. • 1 Peter 2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps. • The cross has 2 sides - Substitutionary and Identification. • Philippians 1:29 NLT For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for Him. • Acts 14. 1.
