OUR PURPOSE
Why do we exist?
New Testament Christian Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ and make disciples by connecting broken people to God.
OUR VISION
Where are we headed?
We are a culture changing church that releases Kingdom-minded Christians to impact their world for Jesus.
TENETS OF FAITH
Inspiration of the Scriptures
Both the Old Testament and New Testament scriptures are totally inspired by God.
God in three persons
We believe in one God revealed in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
God is the only hope of man
We believe that man, without a personal relationship with God, is a sinner, lost, undone, without hope.
Divinity and Humanity of Christ Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the awaited Messiah spoken of in the Old Testament โ God come in the flesh. He is both divine and human.
Salvation
We believe that the terms of salvation are repentance from sin towards God, and a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in regeneration of the person. This salvation is entirely by grace of our Lord and not of works. Works are excluded except as FRUIT of salvation.
Blood Atonement
We believe in the saving power of the Blood of Jesus and His freely given righteousness to us.
Bodily Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ascension
We believe that Christ Jesus ascended to the Father and prepared a place for us. He is currently interceding for the saints.
Second Coming
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Christ Jesus to this earth to rapture His Church (Bride) and judge the world.
(It is not necessary that we all believe alike concerning whether He is coming before, during, or after the Great Tribulation.)
(It is not necessary that we all believe alike concerning whether He is coming before, during, or after the Great Tribulation.)
Local Church
We believe that the local church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a Body of believers who have been baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; who are under recognized, delegated authorities; and who assemble to worship, carry forth the Great Commission, enter into body ministry, and minister as the Holy Spirit leads.
Water Baptism
Immersion in water in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. A symbol of identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Lordโs Supper
A memorial of the death, resurrection, and Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Separated Life
We believe that the believers should seek, as the early disciples did, to practice the separated life from the world and unto Christ and to set standards of conduct which shall exalt our Lord and His Church.
Heaven and Hell
We believe the Scriptures clearly set forth the doctrines of eternal punishment for the lost and eternal bliss and service for the saved โ Hell for the unsaved and Heaven for the saved.
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit to be the third Person of the Trinity whose purpose is to glorify Christ and to convict men of sin, regenerate the repentant believer, guide the believer into ALL truth, indwell and give gifts to believers as He wills, that they may minister as Christ would to men. We believe that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit recorded in I Cor. 12:8-11 shall operate in present-day churches which yield to the Lord Jesus Christ . We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, is for all believers as promised by John the Baptist and Jesus and Peter, was witnessed by the early disciples of Christ and is evidence by many present-day disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Divine Healing
We believe that God has used doctors, medicines, and other material means for healing, but divine healing was also provided for in the Atonement and may be appropriated by laying on of hands by elders, laying on of hands by the believers, by the prayer of an anointed person gifted for healing the sick, or by a direct act of receiving this provision by faith.
Priesthood of Believers
We believe that each believer is a priest of the Lord and has direct access to the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ. Each person must believe for himself, be baptized for himself, obey for himself, and answer to his Creator for himself.
Ordained Officers
The ordained officers of the church are apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher, local bishops, and deacons. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers shall not necessarily all function in one local church. However, it is believed that all of these officers shall function under the covering of a local church and all local elders are under the supervision of the five-fold ministry listed in Eph. 4:11.
Final Say
In conclusion, though we believe that the doctrines of the Bible were written by Godโs men and that they are totally inspired, it is entirely possible for a person to believe a doctrine and never experience the life set forth in the doctrine. For example, one could believe the new birth without experiencing it, he could believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and never experience it; he could give mental assent about the work of the Lord Jesus and never personally know Him. Jesus is not a doctrine โ He is a Person. He is not a plan of salvation โ He is the Man of salvation. Therefore, it is our desire that those reading these doctrines not only mentally agree with them, but have a witness within themselves that these doctrines are true. We do not judge those who do not believe as we do, and we have no desire to debate doctrines. It is our commission to proclaim the gospel, not to defend it.
