• Shiloh - marked by the Presence of God. • Isaiah 41:4 - Who has performed and done it calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord, am the first; and with the last I am He.’ • Isaiah 41:17-20 - The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together, that they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. • Joshua 18:1 - Now the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of meeting there. And the land was subdued before them. • Joshua 18:8-10 - Then the men arose to go away; and Joshua charged those who went to survey the land, saying, “Go, walk through the land, survey it, and come back to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord in Shiloh.” So the men went, passed through the land, and wrote the survey in a book in seven parts by cities; and they came to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh. Then Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord, and there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions. • Judges 21:19 - Then they said, “In fact, there is a yearly feast of the Lord in Shiloh...” • 1 Samuel 1:3, 24-28 - This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there. Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. And the child was young. Then they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli. And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there. • 1 Samuel 3:21 - Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord. • 1 Kings 14:2-4 - And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Indeed, Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people. Also take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him; he will tell you what will become of the child.” And Jeroboam’s wife did so; she arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. • Joshua 22:12 - And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh to go to war against them. • Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. • Watermelon football. • The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. • Deep cries unto deep. • God did not save us to tame us but to RELEASE us as warriors into the battle. • God’s presence releases a freedom to give expression to who God made you to be and do what God called you to do. • Shiloh Biblically. • The presence of God. • Abundance, to prosper. • Peace. • A place of rest, safety, secure. • Judges 2:7-12 - So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel. Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old. And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Heres, in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash. When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals; and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger. • What happened to Shiloh? • Idolatry. • Wrong affections. • False security. • Stopped pursuing the Lord. • Spiritual decline. • Judges 2:10 - Another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. • Isaiah 41:20 - That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. • Shiloh 1. Place 2. Prophetic Promise 3. Person • Genesis 49:10 - The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people. • A Shiloh church means the generations are together pursuing Jesus and are marked by the presence of God!
