 • Series: Ascend: Talk Back

Talk Back. Week 1. June 1, 2025. Romans 8:31-37. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ASCEND in authority and anointing. We steward the anointing through obedience. Spiritual authority is directly connected to the voice of the Father. The enemy of your soul. Accuser of the brethren. (Revelation 12:10) Father of lies. (John 8:44) A thief and a murderer. (John 10:10) Your words spoken in line with God’s truth have life changing power. Talk Back. Know the Truth. Speak the Truth. Silence the accuser. Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Truth #1 - God is for you. Fear : it’s a conditional reality; there’s a limit, boundary or restriction to this truth. If God is for us, who can be against us? Requires Faith and Trust. When I trust God is for me - I can go to Him with anything. I can pray with boldness. I can obey without questioning. I can be ok when God says no. Faith means we anchor our confidence in Who God is, not what we see. (Hebrews 11:1) John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:4 …just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. If God is for us, who can be against us? 2. Implies Strength. Psalm 118:6-7a The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me. If God is for us, who can be against us? 3. Requires Focus. David talked back, Genesis 50:20. You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good… God is for you even when life seems to be falling apart, unfair and against you. Moses talked back, Exodus 14:13-14. Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” God is for you even when you are stuck, facing the impossible. David talked back, 1 Samuel 17:45-47. Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you … Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” God is for you even when feel overlooked and forgotten.. God is for you even when you don’t know the reason, the purpose or the outcome. Jesus talked back, John 21:17. Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.” God is for you even when you fail or make poor decisions. God’s heart is always turned toward His children. No failure can overpower His goodness and grace. John 6:55-57 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
